As a Sharks fan who follows our prospects pretty heavily I can say that I was sad to see him go. I thought he was one of our most underrated prospects, and the reality is that he was a casualty of the fact that we have a deep farm of forwards. He has some disciplinary issues, but I think he'll mature out of those. What you'll get is a gritty player who scores a lot of "Garbage goals" coaches and peers voted him top 3 most dangerous scorers around the net last season in the OHL. Finishing ahead of many household names.
My top Sadowy (pronounced Sah-doh-way btw) memory is when he was still on the Saginaw Spirit last season. They were 1 point out of the playoffs on the last game of the season, and he put the team on his back and scored a hat trick to get the team into the playoffs. They were promptly swept by the vastly superior Greyhounds, but that effort and leadership was really impressive!
Best of luck to the young man going forward, and I hope to see him in the NHL some day!
Thanks for the write-up. I live near Saginaw and was able to watch him a fair amount. I liked his style. You never know how their skills will translate to the AHL and then the NHL.
